Civil weddings are celebrated either in town halls or in villas and castles which are recognized as ceremony venues by the local authorities. A local Councillor celebrates the legally binding ceremony in Italian next to a professional interpreter.

ROMAN CATHOLIC WEDDING CEREMONIES
In Italy Roman Catholic wedding ceremonies must be celebrated in churches and only if either the bride or the groom is Roman Catholic. The Catholic service may have civil validity if the couple provides the legal paperwork required by the local registry office.

PROTESTANT WEDDING CEREMONIES
Protestant ceremonies can be arranged in all Protestant churches or in private locations such as villas, castles and farms.

JEWISH WEDDING CEREMONIES
Jewish wedding ceremonies can be celebrated either in synagogues or in private locations like villas, castles and farmhouses.
